Training Camp delivers the full CompTIA stack: A+ and Network+ for IT foundations, Security+ for entry-level cybersecurity, CySA+ and PenTest+ at the intermediate level, and SecurityX (formerly CASP+) at the advanced level, plus Linux+, Data+, Cloud+, and Server+. Security+ is by far the most popular first cybersecurity certification.

For general IT and help-desk roles, start with A+. For networking, start with Network+. For cybersecurity, start with Security+, the most widely requested entry-level security certification. Once certified, specialize with CySA+ (defense), PenTest+ (offense), or SecurityX (advanced).

Yes. Security+ is the most widely requested entry-level cybersecurity certification in job postings, is vendor-neutral, and is approved for U.S. DoD 8140 roles. It is a baseline requirement for many security analyst, SOC, and federal contractor positions, and it is often the fastest credential to make a resume competitive for security work.

Yes. Security+ is approved under DoDM 8140.03 for multiple DoD Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF) work roles, and it was a longtime DoD 8570 IAT Level II baseline. That approval is a major reason it is so widely required across defense and federal contracting.

CySA+ is defensive, blue-team work: threat detection, security monitoring, SOC analysis, and incident response. PenTest+ is offensive, red-team work: penetration testing and vulnerability assessment. Both are intermediate credentials usually taken after Security+, and many analysts eventually earn both.

SecurityX is CompTIA's advanced, expert-level security certification for security architects and senior engineers. CompTIA renamed CASP+ (CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner) to SecurityX with the current release, so it is the same tier of credential under a new name.

Training Camp delivers CompTIA courses as accelerated boot camps, typically four to five days of intensive instruction with hands-on labs. Most candidates with some IT background prepare for a few weeks total, including the boot camp, before sitting the exam.
